If, like us, you've done just about everything you can do in lockdown (yes, we've made bread, learned the art of cocktails, watched the National Theatre Live and even got skillshare), you're probably at the point of continously asking yourself: When Do I Get My Holiday?
How about this weekend? While we can't promise you the soft sands and warm sea water of Mexico's south peninsula, we can guarantee all the flavours and viewing pleasures that will take you straight there.
WHAT TO DRINK
PINAPPLE CHILI MARGARITA
Margaritas are a wonderful cocktail. They are easy to make, versatile, and all round pretty delicious. We've taken to making these pinapple margaritas (and adding some chili powder to the rim) with our new favourite tequila (great price and great quality), Olmeca Altos.
MEXICAN BEER
The UK is surprisingly not a bad place to get Mexican beer - add a little bit of lime and you're immediatly transported to the beach. Our favourites are Modelo, Pacifico, Indio and, if you feel a little bit more luxurious, an Allende beer is always a winner.
WHAT TO EAT
FISH TACOS
Lately we've been obsessed with making these fish tacos. It's simply white fish rolled in a bit of flour and beer and pan fried. We then make a bit of Pico de Gallo (freshly chopped tomato, coriander, onion and freshly squeezed lime juce) and put it together into a tortilla. Easy, quick and delicious.
WAHACA AT HOME
From fresh guacamole to tortilla soup, Wahaca's At Home project is a great way to sink your teeth into simple, delicious Mexican inspired cooking. Our personal favourites are the molletes for lunch.

WHAT TO WATCH
ROMA
A quiet portrait of life for women in general and domestic workers in particular in Mexico City, Alfonso Cuarón's film captures a harsh reality in beautiful scenes. Read our founder's full thoughts on it here.
Available on Netflix.
I'M NO LONGER HERE
This newly released drama film tells the story of a young man who has to leave his home town for the United States after a misunderstanding. Guillermo del Toro says, "it articulates SO much, with such beauty and power. Audovisually disciplined - while remaining spiritually unchained." Need we say more?
Available on Netflix.

WHAT TO SHOP
PALM TREE ICON SOCKS
If we're talking about being transported to the beach while in rainy UK weather, this is potentially our best suggestion. These palm tree socks are definitely favourites, from how stylish they are to their subtle flare, they feel like a little piece of holiday.
PINK CROP TOP
Not sure what's been going on with the weather lately, but in the hopes of it getting better soon, these comfortable crop tops are perfect for a drink and a picnic at your local park.
