When Mexico was colonised by Spain, imports arrived filled with fancy children's toys that were unattainable for most native kids. So the Mazahua ethnic group started creating The María Dolls for their own children. Hand-made with colourful ribbon, they're a cultural heritage of the Querétaro state and an iconic design that exudes Mexican vibrance.
